Client profiles: couples in JaneApp
Goal: Handle couples work in a way that protects privacy and keeps records clear, even if the booking shows only one name.
Key rule: two profiles
Even if the couples appointment in Jane appears under one booking name, the clinic requires both clients to have their own profiles:
- Partner A client profile
- Partner B client profile
Why:
- each partner’s consent/permissions are separate
- either partner may later return for individual counselling
- reduces risk of accidental information sharing
Minimum info to collect (before session 1 if possible)
If one partner books the first session, ask for the other partner’s:
- full name
- phone number (if used)
Admin can then create the second profile and send the partner any required intake/consent.
If you need to request the partner details from the booking partner, please use:
Consent
- Both partners should sign clinic policies/consents separately for couples work.
Documentation convention
- Clearly label couples sessions as couples sessions (both present).
- Please store couples session notes in both partner charts (each partner’s profile). It is okay to copy/paste the same couples-session note into each partner’s file as a duplicate note.
- If one partner later becomes an individual client, keep individual notes in that partner’s individual context and do not share without consent.
